Cleaning up dog waste will help to keep down the potential threat of parasites
that can harm your pet and family.
Aside from the health hazard of unattended dog waste it can gather maggots,
flies, pass bacteria to other animals, which in turn pass it back to your dog, and
possible us humans as well. Canine waste contains lots of bacteria that can
cause fecal streptococcus and fecal coliform. It also can carry e.coli,
campylobacter and salmonella.
Roundworms and hookworms deposited by infected animals can live in the soil
for a long time and be transmitted to humans and other animals.
Left to decay in the grass and on sidewalks, the feces run into our streams,
lakes and oceans, causing massive pollution. This is called the "Fido hyothesis" by
researchers in the field of waste management.

1-Make your dog a poor host to viruses with
improved diet and regular vet visits.
2-Look for boarding kennels and training centers
that screen clients and disinfect surfaces.
3-Watch for symptoms. Contact your vet if your
dog develops a runny nose, fever or cough.
4-If your dog becomes infected keep them at home.
Don't visit puppies or elderly or infirm dogs.
